Quarter 8 - Lesson 2: Developing our deductive sklls vis-a-vis Concordant Causes
With this lesson all our case studies will emphasize the development of
deductive skills to more confidently forecast events based on congruent causes.
All prediction is based on a firm understanding of the natal chart, the natal
chart itself being the basis for all of life's events. But forecasting, that
is the timing of life's events - based on the potential as seen in the birth
chart - is a deductive process that begins with the agreement or its lack
existing between different causes when applying the different timing techniques.
For example, what a primary direction may promise may be confirmed by the presence
or negated by the lack of a corroborating solar return. It is for this reason
that Morin states that the vast majority of primary directions do not produce
significant events.
This cooperation or agreement between causes as seen in the different timing
techniques to provoke or manifest an event as seen in potential natally is what
Morin calls "concordance" or "concordant causes."
"An astrologer skilled in the concordance of causes and effects, will only
need a few directions to [know] the state of the whole year, that is to recognize
the Native's principal changes emanating from the stars in that year." J.B.
