Quarter 7 - Lesson 1: On Primary Directions - An Introduction and Overview
We introduce the topic of Primary Directions, a tool for forecasting that has its roots and use already during the time of Christ or at the beginning of the common era.
We place this topic in context with the other traditional forecasting techniques, the transits and the solar revolutions. We then go on to give Morin's definition of the primary direction as drawn from his Book 22 titled "Directions".
As the topic depends on a conceptual understanding of the celestial sphere, we illustrate these by first showing a chart which is really a 2-dimensional depiction of the celestial sphere at the birth moment. We then illustrate that same chart as the three dimensional model for the purpose of defining basic concepts as used with this technique.
Our discussion of the celestial sphere and the whole topic of the Primaries is discussed conceptually, no math or computation is discussed.
For those who are interested in their computation, I will be happy to direct those individuals to the appropriate sources.
