Quarter 4 - Lesson 8: The Ascendant and MC as the Primary Significators of Human Destiny
The importance of the Ascendant, Midheaven, Moon, and Sun (and in particular the former two) as the primary critical factors conditioning a human being's life cannot be overstated.
Morin establishes this priority by stating unambiguously and unequivocally when he states that, "It is principally the Planets occupying the 1st and 10th Houses or the Rulers of these Houses which should be examined for Zodiacal state and determinations…. By this observation alone of the Planets in 1st or 10th or their Rulers one can immediately make a judgment as to whether the Nativity is fortunate or unfortunate."
We examine the astrological factors that permit him to make this bold assertion using the charts of Andrew Weil, the noted American holistic physician and writer; Jeffery Dahmer, the American serial killer and cannibal; and Jackie Stewart, the Scottish-American professional race car driver of the Formula One Series, all three having Libra rising, Moon in Aries, and the Sun in Gemini.
By carefully observing how the Planets in the 1st and 10th Houses and the rulers of these houses are determined in terms of their zodiacal and terrestrial states, we can reliably access the overall health and condition of the natal chart.
This disciplined approach make us appreciate that the realization of the affairs of these two critical houses depends on our ability to measure the impact of multiple influences on the 1st or the 10th and then judge which have the greatest impact for or against a favorable outcome for those affairs. And of course, these same considerations can be applied to the Moon, Sun, and the other ten houses.
