With Lesson 3 we introduce the technique of Differential Diagnosis. The Differential Diagnosis means "the going deeper" into a chart; it's purpose is to sharpen your observational skills as you examine the chart in a systematic and structures fashion.

This lesson as well as the remaining lessons in this Quarter will illustrate 2 or three charts each lesson that have the same Ascendant, Moon, and Sun, and yet when we look at the lives of each of the individuals, we will see that they have led very different lives and have undergone very different events. The question is, how do we account for these differences?

We know that Astrology is the study of motivation and drive and that this definition has a lot to do with strength and strength has a lot to do with quantity. Our initial use of the technique of differential diagnosis will be to help us detect these differences in strength among the charts as an explanation to the different events they have undergone.
