Quarter 4 - Lesson 2:
A Review of the Ascendant's Pivotal Role vis-vis Morin's Theory of Determination

Lesson 2 develops Morin's Theory of Determination in relation to the Ascendant, the pivotal component in a chart. If we mention, that each chart is comprised of Signs, Planets, and Houses, the question is, to whom do we give priority? If I mention the three parts, what do we mention first, the Sign, the House, or the Planet?

Our discussion will demonstrate that the House is the most important consideration, followed by the Sign found on the cusp of the House, and lastly comes the Planet that interferes. What do we mean that a Planet interferes? Do not automatically give a negative connation to the word. We develop this concept will several examples. To illustrate, how would we explain and interpret the chart of someone born with Aquarius rising and Mercury conjunct the Ascendant versus the same Aquarius Ascendant but with the Sun conjunct the ascendant? Answering this question correctly will give a good understanding of Morin's Theory of Determination.
