Quarter 2 - Lesson 10:
On Aspects - Intermediate Level - Part 2

Morin's introductory comments on aspects in Section 2, Chapter 9 in Book 21 makes it clear that they are a major structural element acting with the planets as partners in the same action when he states, "Hence it is clear that a power of action is inherent in the aspects as well as in the signs, which is dependent on the qualitative power of the planets." This comment sets the direction of our lesson as we dilate the numerous combinations existing between planets through aspects.

The lesson begins with Morin's most general statement on aspects, viz: "The partnership of benefic aspects from benefic planets is good; of malefic aspects from malefics is evil; but of benefic ones from malefic planets or of malefic ones from benefic planets the combination is intermediate in effect." From this statement we extrapolate the meaning existing between harmonious and disharmonious aspects among benefics, first when found in a fortunate then unfortunate zodiacal states and lastly considering the former combinations when connected with fortunate versus unfortunate houses.

Our lesson ends with the technique to delineate the numerous combinations formed by aspects by carefully considering them in terms of their respective natures, states, and local determinations through position and rulership.
