The Archetype

The twelve signs of the Zodiac viewed as a unit or taken as a whole are called The Archetype. The Archetype represents an ideal image. In the Archetype we have a simple and natural expression of the world and our relationship to it and to a Creator. If we know how to view the Archetype, we have in it an answer to the mysteries of human nature.

Living is the aim of life, and to live life is to mature not only physically but also emotionally and spiritually. To live life in thought, word, and action in accordance to values expressed in the Archetype is to bring order to the world and peace and harmony to ourselves.

Without an understanding of the Archetype, the practice of astrology is a hollow shell. The value of astrology as a guideline for living is pointless without a deep appreciation of the Archetype as a means to guide the rectification of character.

"Everything that man accomplishes or does, that he teaches or wants to learn, must have its right proportion; it must follow its own line and remain within its circle, to the end that a balance is preserved, that there be no crooked thing, that nothing exceed the circle." --- Paracelsus.
