The Ascendant, a succession to the 12th House
The Ascendant sign symbolizes the new seeds of consciousness yet to be integrated
in the ego - these are new concepts that progressively increase in importance in the
course of one's life. Simultaneous to the new cycle initiated through the Ascendant,
the 12th house symbolizes the ending of a cycle - it captures the concepts in
consciousness that need to culminate in order for the new to rise.
Through the 12th house we reach a climax when our ideals inspire us to transcend
existing boundaries; yet what we perceived as the ultimate may not be as complete
as initially thought. Learning to surrender through the 12th house, gives rise
to a new life orientation through the Ascendant sign.
