Gary Christen
Gary is President and CEO of Astrolabe, Inc, a world-renowned astrological
think-tank and software publisher based in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Astrolabe
is the publisher of Solar Fire, Astrolabe Report System and many other
outstanding works in the field of astrology. Gary has spent most of his
career working towards moving the entire field of astrology into a
commanding position in the new technological age. He is currently
finishing "Nova Chartwheels" along with Ray White as programmer based on
his methods and technique.
He specializes in the Symmetrical Astrology, which is composed of various schools
of thought comprising the Uranian System, Cosmobiology, Cosmobiosophical and others
based on the ideas compiled by Alfred Witte and incorporates many of the mundane
ideas introduced by A. H. Blackwell. This modern approach also utilizes other new-wave
forms of astrology as I long ago passed through the more orthodox and traditional
forms. I try to teach people new ways of looking and thinking about astrology
without limiting myself to the confines of any specific school of thought.

The 12 Rules of Symmetrical Astrology
Using symmetry sometimes looks alien and complicated to the casual astrological
observer. However, this system of ideas is really a high-powered speed technique
that is easy to use, fast and accurate.
This talk will demonstrate the underlying basis of the ideas originated by Alfred
Witte. It will also contain ideas developed by AH Blackwell. In America Witte's
ideas are commonly called the Uranian System (coined by R. Svehla, who was one of
the early American pioneers of the ideas) or Uranian Astrology (coined by Hans
Niggemann a direct student of Witte), this technique employs some really great
and easy to use tools that unleash a high power method of analysis. Outside of
America, many schools have been founded that use Witte's ideas directly or
offshoots of them and all of them have strengths. AH's work brings in many of
the earlier distilled Babylonian ideas that Witte wasn't exposed to. Particularly,
the use of angularity and off-ecliptic material distinguishes Symmetrical
Astrology from other descendants of Witte's and Niggemann's teachings.
This is not a system of thought that will displace what you are currently doing.
It is like an astrological buffet where you can pick and choose what elements you
find useful and integrate them into your work and studies. To make things easier,
Astrolabe has a new program designed around these techniques as Gary uses them and
is a great teaching tool. One picture is worth a thousand words and you will be
shown visually what Gary does and how he does it.
You should leave this talk with a reasonable knowledge of the basic techniques
underlying Symmetrical Astrology. This workshop is appropriate for all levels of
astrologers from beginner to seasoned professional.
