Lectures:

  • Basic Techniques in Hellenistic Astrology
This lecture will provide an introduction to some of the core technical concepts used in Hellenistic astrology, which is a tradition of astrology that was practiced from the 1st century BC until approximately the 7th century AD. The lecture is geared towards modern astrologers who have little background in the ancient traditions of astrology, and the goal is to provide a rich introduction to the subject by highlighting the practical and conceptual value of some of the older techniques.

To this end, I will emphasize a selection of basic techniques and concepts from the Hellenistic tradition that are immediately applicable in contemporary astrological practice. In particular I will focus on the earliest conceptualization of the planets, signs, houses and aspects, and show how the ways in which they were originally used can have a profound impact on the practice of astrology in modern times.
