Content - The Skills

The two-year, eight quarter curriculum is organized into three levels:

LEVEL 1 - An Introduction to Astrology:

LEVEL 2 - Intermediate Studies in Astrology:

LEVEL 3 - Advanced Studies in Astrology:

Our program emphasizes the need of a human being to be an active participant in the world and for the person to understand how he or she is related to both the Creation and a Creator. (We do not emphasize any particular religion but only acknowledge that a Creation requires a Creator and that we are a part of this Creation.) Such an understadning is required for a person to grow emotionally and spiritually. Such an approach is necessary to be happy and successful in day-to-day living.

The intent of the two-year program is not to teach Astrology as an isolated activity but to make the student appreciate Astrology as an integral part of an approach to life. This approach reflects our understanding of Astrology as taught by traditional societies. To that end, we place the building of skills in Astrology within a framework that encourages the development of values and their use to guide actions. Furthermore, we also emphasize the practice of meditation as a means to gain a quiet and alert mind. A quiet alert mind provides an effective foundation for learning to take place.

The goal of LEVEL 1 and LEVEL 2 is to provide the student with a satisfactory skill level to permit the interpretation of an easy to moderately difficult horoscope. (What an "easy to moderately difficult horoscope" means will be discussed during weekly lessons.)

Concurrent with the development of these interpretation skills is an emphasis on making the student appreciate the need to place Astrology within the context of a value system. This is done with an introduction to the Archetype and discussions on the meaning and need for value.

We introduce the value of values in LEVEL 1 and demonstrate their interrelationship within the framework of the Archetype. In LEVEL 3 we emphasizes the need to integrate the practice of Astrology with the concurrent development of values to guide one's life. This process of learning and growing is facilitated by meditation.

By use of meditative techniques, we gain an ability to make the mind abide. The result is a mind that is more alert and quiet which in turn permits more effective learning and gaining control over mechanical behavior.

In time, this integrated approach to Astrology becomes a lifestyle and sets the stage for the study of Metaphysics. The purpose of life is to live. To have life is to have the opportunity to mature emotionally and spiritually. The generations that have preceded us have given us Astrology and Metaphysics as timeless gifts to see order in what appears as disorder, to turn our chaos into a cosmos. This is evolution.
