Directions For Entering Chart Values:
- Most values are self-explanatory.
- For "Date of Birth", enter the month, day, and year in which you were
born (replace "1900" by the appropriate numeric value, e.g. 1951 or -54).
- For "Time of Birth" enter the hours, minutes, seconds and time zone.  You need to
know what time zone was in effect on your birthday. For example,
New York City is in a time zone 5 hours west of Greenwhich Mean Time when
Eastern Standard Time is being observed but 4 hours west of Greenwhich Mean Time when
Eastern Daylight Time is in effect. So according to which day you were
born on you would select either "w05:00 EST / CDT" (5 hours west, which can be
either Easter Standard Time or Central Daylight Time) or "w04:00 AST / EDT" (4 hours
west). On the other hand, if you're really old and were born in New York
on 1800, then you would need to know that "Local Mean Time" was in effect then and
you should make that selection.
- For "Latitude" enter degrees (0 - 90), followed by 'N' (for "north") or 'S' (for "south"),
followed by minutes (0 - 59).
- For "Longitude" enter degrees (0 - 180), followed by 'E' (for "east") or 'W' (for "west"),
followed by minutes (0 - 59).
- Click on "Compute".
