Quarter 3 - Lesson 6

On House Combinations - A Deeper Study - Part 1
When we introduced the topic of house combinations in Quarter 2, we said that we routinely observe the ruler of one house physically posited in another house when studing a natal chart. Such a situation anticipates the combination of the affairs of the two houses but the question is, will the affairs of the two houses always combine? Does the former always become the cause of the latter or vice-versa such that one cannot happen independently of the other? We want to understand under what conditions house combinations occur.

In order to understand if a potential combination is realized or not, we have to go more deeply into a discussion of the relationship that exists between a planet and the sign in which it is posited. Furthermore, we have to consider why a planet is said to be the ruler of a sign, and as a consequence why that planet is called the ruler of a particular house when the sign over which it rules is found on the house cusp.

We will demonstrate the pivotal value of the planet's nature, analogy, and zodiacal state as the basis for the realization of any combination. We know a planet posited in one house produces one event and another by virtue of its ruling another house. We want to know if these two realizations are necessarily subject one to the other. Are they truly different, independent, and distinct classes of events or not? This is very important to determine. We will use the charts of Martha Stewart and Robert Blake to illustrate the answers to these questions.
