Quarter 2 - Lesson 5

Topic: Zodiacal State - Part II. On Triplicity and Peregrine

When we introduced the concept of the zodiacal state of a planet in Quarter 1, Lesson 10, we said that the topic is seldom discussed by modern astrologers and if it is, it is usually done in a superficial manner and not with the complete feeling that the ancients wanted to convey.

When a person has decided that they are going to achieve a particular goal, there must be the means by which they obtain that goal. From the viewpoint of society, there is the right way and the wrong way to obtain that end.

The ends we choose as our goals and the means by which we achieve those ends are conditioned by the zodiacal state or "QUALITY" of a planet. The zodiacal state conditions the ethical and moral values of a person. It reflects the different ways and means a person uses a planet to go about obtaining their lot in life which may or may not be in keeping with the commonly held mores of society.

We do not give up the idea that a person has a choice over their actions but we also recognize that every human is born with natural inclinations and that these inclinations are conditioned by the zodiacal state of the planets.

In Part I on zodiacal state we discussed four of the six zodiacal states or dignities of a planet: Domicile, Exaltation, Detriment, and Fall. Today, we will discuss the remaining two, Triplicity and Peregrine, and apply our discussion to the charts of Michael Milken, Thomas Jefferson, Michael Jordan, and M. C. Escher.

Sincerely,
