Quarter 2 - Lesson 1

Introduction to Quarter 2

The goal of Quarter 2 is to clarify and solidify our understanding of the basics. A good deal of the material in Quarter 2 expands upon the previous twelve lessons while new material builds on what we have already discussed.

The first part of Lesson 1 in Quarter 2 reviews points 3 and 4 of our methodology, which cover tools and technique respectively. We comment on the factors that affect the quality and quantity of planetary influences as well as the techniques that facilitate gaining speed and economy in our thinking. Synthesis depends on the ability to put all the images together with lightning speed. We discuss the ways that encourage developing good analytic technique which provides the proper foundation for synthesis to follow.

As we have discussed, there is no shortcut to accomplishment. Of all the activities to master, the most important is regular PRACTICE and when you practice, you should write out all your observations in a bound "black and white" composition book. As you go through the process of writing out all the considerations in the five-step analysis of the chart, aim to complete the task in about two hours.

Writing out your thoughts as you go through the exercise will turn the process into a habit. The result is that your thinking will speed up and you will retain ever greater amounts of information. This in time will take you from analysis to synthesis.

The bulk of Lesson 1 is a comprehensive analysis of the horoscope of Bonnie Lee Bakley, the murdered wife of the actor Robert Blake. The purpose of the analysis is to give you a practice model as a guide when you study charts on your own.
