Quarter 1 - Lesson 9

Topics: On the Sun and On Unusual Chart Considerations

Lesson 9 introduces the Sun, the third subunit in the triad of considerations that constitute the basic framework of a horoscope. While the Sun is important, we have to appreciate its significance in relation to the first two considerations, The Ascendant and the Moon.

As we have stressed on a number of occasions, we always prioritize our considerations, and what is mentioned first is taken to be more important than what is mentioned second. First comes the Ascendant and then the Moon. These two taken together as a unit constitute life. Life is a combination of the Ascendant plus the Moon. So it may be asked, what then is the Sun and what is its purpose?

We say that the Sun is consciousness and its highest expression is the human WILL. The Sun is the power to organize for the purpose of achieving some set goal. This lesson will concentrate on this point which is the 4th Part in a 5-part analysis of a chart. The charts of Bill Clinton, Paul McCartney, Ron Howard, and Eric Harris are cited.

The lesson concludes by discussing Part 5 of a horoscope analysis which covers unusual considerations found in a chart. What makes a chart unusual is often the presence of unique groupings of planets, aspects, signs, house emphasis, or a myriad of other things that modify our image of the chart based on the first four parts of our chart analysis.

This last step is important as this step introduces thinking by the use of analogy. The ability to think analogically is important as it's the basis of synthesis. A lack of attention to this last point will lead us to make wrong conclusions about the individual whose chart we are studying.
